Shopping for the Hopping family photo shoot took me no further than their closets. It was easy to pull together an adorable look with their own clothes. They are all dressed in blue and white (perfect for spring/summer photos) with varying patterns and little pops of color. Meredith is dressed in a blue and white striped tee, a cobalt blue full-midi skirt and a coral necklace. Nate is retro chic in blue jeans, a light blue and cobalt blue-striped button down, a grey pin-striped vest and a coral bow-tie. Eleonore is wearing a white sundress adorned with blue whales and a big, bright pink bow. Francesca is wearing a blue with white polkadots romper and a white-eyelet sun hat. They look adorable, and their pictures, taken by St. Louis photographer, Kristi Foster, turned out great!
If you’re trying to decide how to dress for your next family shoot, how about adding interest and revealing individual personalities while keeping your family photos beautiful and cohesive? Try adding your color and patterns. I love white, I really do, but I’ve seen too many pictures where the girls are wearing white sundresses and the boys are wearing khaki pants and white shirts. (The exception to this thought is a beach wedding. It could be tricky getting around wearing a white dress. Also in this case, always wear what the bride requests. Just a tip, you’re welcome.) Adding color and patterns can be so much fun and not “too busy” at all. Just make sure to wear the same color palette so you look like you all belong in the same photo.
